Bellefonte’s Easter Parade: Music, Costumes & Community Giving with BHCA
This is a new event that BHCA hopes will become a Bellefonte tradition. Partnering with Helen Foxx and Co., BHCA recruits musicians and obtains permits for a short Easter Parade along Allegheny St., ending up at the Courthouse for a public reception. Parade participants dress up in their finest or sometimes most outlandish outfits and assemble for the short parade. And our band always plays Easter Parade. Marchers' costumes are judged by a panel of discerning experts and cash prizes are awarded, but only after extra points are given to those who bring a monetary or food donation to benefit the Faith Centre Food Bank. The result is some dress-up fun on Easter, a bit of spectacle, and help for the hungry.
