Bringing Bellefonte to Life with Music: BHCA’s Street Performances and Community Concerts
For decades, BHCA has sponsored outdoor pop music concerts and indoor chamber music concerts. But there are more ways to hear music than at a concert. Music can be played from a porch, in the street, out a window, or on the sidewalk.
For several years, BHCA has brought street music to Bellefonte. We put a brass quartet on the Courthouse porch for our Easter Parade, we provided musicians to play music at a Christmas Tree Lighting in Talleyrand Park, we subsidized buskers along Allegheny Street on several summer evenings, we brought a uniformed reenactor to play taps in the Union Cemetery, and we arranged for a small band to play on the porch of the Elks Lodge during Victorian Christmas.
We will continue to enrich events around town with music because it makes Bellefonte even more interesting.
