BHCA’s Art in the Open invites everyone—young or old, beginner or experienced—to paint, create, and share in Bellefonte’s annual community art exhibit.
Each summer, the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association (BHCA), in partnership with the Centre County Library – Bellefonte Branch, invites community members of all ages to join in Art in the Open: A Community Canvas Extravaganza.
BHCA provides participants with a canvas and optional paint set to create their own paintings. Approximately 50 unique artworks are typically submitted each year and celebrated with an opening reception at the library, complete with snacks and mocktails. Throughout September, the canvases are featured in a rotating indoor/outdoor art walk along the library sidewalks and inside the building, giving equal visibility to every participant’s creation.
The result is a vibrant, community-made exhibit that highlights both Bellefonte’s creativity and the value of working together.
Join us! Art in the Open is held annually, and we invite you to watch for announcements on our website and social media to learn how you can be part of this colorful community tradition.
