Documenting Downtown: BHCA’s Building-by-Building Archive of Bellefonte’s Architectural Heritage
The Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association (BHCA) is committed to preserving and sharing the architectural legacy of downtown Bellefonte—one building at a time. For over a century, the town's distinctive architecture has been photographed, studied, and written about by individuals, journalists, and public officials. However, much of this valuable documentation remains hidden in archives and rarely accessed by the public.
BHCA aims to recover, curate, and showcase the most significant of these historical records on its website. In addition to highlighting existing archival materials, the organization will contribute original content to expand the narrative. The long-term goal is to create a comprehensive, publicly accessible database of photographs and descriptions that chronicle the rich architectural fabric of downtown Bellefonte.
